Arrow Puzzle Game Statistics 2026
Published October 16, 2026 · Store data from October 5, 2026 · Level data from the games' Android files
Arrow puzzles — tap an arrow and it slides off the board only if its path is clear — became one of the biggest puzzle genres on mobile in 2025–2026. This page collects the numbers we have measured ourselves: store data for 17 games, what is actually inside the level files of the biggest ones, how their difficulty and ads are paced, and how real players progress through a free arrow puzzle. Every table says where its numbers come from; the method is at the end. We make Arrow Jam Go, Arrow Curve and 3D Arrow Jam Go, and our own games are measured the same way as everyone else's.
Key Findings
- The two biggest games each have more than 116 million Google Play installs: Arrows – Puzzle Escape (Lessmore, ~474,000 App Store ratings) and Amaze GO! (released only in February 2026). By October 16, Amaze GO! had passed Arrows on Google Play (about 122.7 million vs 118.8 million).
- The leaders use long arrows: a median of 7 cells, a quarter of arrows 15+ cells long, and single arrows up to 83–84 cells. Both introduce a 30+ cell arrow by level 4.
- Their boards are almost completely full: 97–98% of cells are covered by arrows.
- Difficulty comes in waves: Amaze GO! repeats a 10-level pattern with a hard level every third level and a super-hard level every tenth; in Arrow Fever's 1,175 levels, 22% are hard or harder.
- Ads are the top complaintin many of these games: 60 of Amaze GO!'s latest 100 App Store reviews mention ads, versus 17 for Arrows.
- On our free browser version, 54% of players who start level 1 reach level 10 and 36% reach level 20 — where failures jump from under 10% to 27% — and the average visit to the game page lasts about 12 minutes.
1. The Games by Store Numbers
Sorted by US App Store ratings. "Reviews mentioning ads" counts the latest 100 US App Store reviews (or all available, if fewer) that mention ads. A dash means the game is not on that store or the number was not available.

2. Inside the Levels
What the boards are actually made of, measured from the level files with one script for all games. Arrow Jam Go and Arrows: levels 31 onward (past the tutorial); Arrow Jam Go Nightmare: all 810 levels; Amaze GO!: its Normal and Hard level pools. Nightmare boards leave much more of their square grid empty, which is why their coverage is lower.
| Measure | Arrow Jam Go | Arrow Jam Go Nightmare | Arrows – Puzzle Escape | Amaze GO! Normal | Amaze GO! Hard |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Board size (median) | 24 × 25 | 50 × 50 | 27 × 37 | 20 × 28 | 32 × 44 |
| Arrows per level (median) | 97 | 183 | 87 | 55 | 130 |
| Arrow length: mean / median / 90th pct (cells) | 5.1 / 4 / 10 | 6.0 / 4 / 14 | 11.0 / 7 / 24 | 10.0 / 7 / 23 | 10.6 / 7 / 26 |
| Longest arrow (cells) | 12 | 20 | 83 | 84 | 84 |
| Arrows 8+ cells long | 22% | 29% | 49% | 47% | 47% |
| Arrows 15+ cells long | 0% | 9% | 24% | 20% | 23% |
| Bends per arrow (mean) | 1.8 | 2.4 | 3.3 | 3.0 | 3.2 |
| Board covered by arrows (median) | 91% | 48% | 97% | 98% | 98% |
| Arrows free to fly at the start (median) | 14% | 13% | 10% | 21% | 10% |
| Rounds to clear (median) | 34 | 58 | 33 | 19 | 43 |
The difference is style as much as size. Arrows' long arrows wind through the board like a maze; Amaze GO! favours long straight arrows in parallel groups and nested L and U shapes. Arrow Jam Go uses many short arrows instead, so its difficulty comes from the number of arrows rather than from a few long ones that block a whole region.
How many levels are in the apps: Arrows ships 4,852 level files and a progression list of 6,462 entries (3,706 distinct levels, some reused); Amaze GO! ships 21,204 levels in its new-player packs plus 2,500 Arrow Clash and 2,619 3D levels; Arrow Fever ships 1,175; Arrow Jam Go has 7,205 (6,030 main, 810 Nightmare, 365 daily), with a 600-level picture mode arriving in the October 2026 update (iOS 2.6 / Android 1.48).
3. The First 100 Levels
Medians per level band, shown as taps / arrows to read / free at start / rounds. "Arrows to read" adds up the arrows still on the board in every round — a rough measure of how much scanning a level takes. Arrows: its default 40-level tutorial plus the first 60 levels of its main progression; Amaze GO!: its 40 tutorial levels plus its difficulty schedule.
| Levels | Arrow Jam Go | Arrows | Amaze GO! |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–5 | 8 / 17 / 29% / 4 | 4 / 7 / 33% / 3 | 4 / 7 / 50% / 3 |
| 6–10 | 15 / 48 / 15% / 6 | 24 / 91 / 25% / 10 | 17 / 84 / 18% / 10 |
| 11–20 | 32 / 250 / 19% / 16 | 30 / 186 / 15% / 14 | 29 / 144 / 18% / 12 |
| 21–40 | 68 / 775 / 16% / 26 | 40 / 306 / 14% / 17 | 43 / 352 / 11% / 19 |
| 41–100 | 98 / 1,272 / 15% / 35 | 78 / 908 / 10% / 28 | 68 / 802 / 9% / 29 |
Pacing: Amaze GO! runs a 10-level difficulty cycle (1-1-2-1-1-2-1-1-1-3), so a hard level every third level and a super-hard one every tenth, with extra-hard levels at 50 and 100. Arrows runs a 30-level cycle with a hard level every 4–5 levels and the hardest at levels 10, 20 and 30 of each cycle. Arrow Jam Go's board jumps from 15 × 15 to 23 × 23 at level 20 — the same level where our web players start failing (section 6).
Arrow Fever's difficulty tiers
| Tier | Levels | Arrows per level (median) |
|---|---|---|
| Tutorial | 8 | 34 |
| Normal | 903 | 80 |
| Hard | 196 | 96 |
| Very hard | 64 | 118.5 |
| Hardest tier | 4 | 218 |
Arrow Fever's arrows are curves stored as dense point lists rather than grid cells, so its numbers are not directly comparable with the grid games above.
4. How Ads Are Paced
What the games' own ad settings and code show (exact numbers are often set by the server):
- Arrows – Puzzle Escape:AppLovin MAX. Interstitials play when the next level starts, after an "Ad break" notice; none play for a while after a rewarded video; after several interstitials it offers ad removal ("Want fewer Ads?"). Start level and spacing come from the server.
- Amaze GO!:interstitials unlock after a set level and number of sessions, with a time cooldown, a level interval, separate daily caps for a player's first, third and seventh day, a 1–2 second notice before the ad, and no ad after your first failure.
- Arrow Fever: interstitials from level 17, at least 40 seconds apart, plus an app-open ad.
- Arrow Jam Go: AdMob, no banners, never during a level. Main levels: after levels 10 and 15, then every second level from level 20; also on every third retry and after each completed daily challenge. From the October 2026 update (iOS 2.6 / Android 1.48), after every Nightmare level and after every second new picture in picture mode. One purchase removes all interstitials; rewarded videos (hints, revive, skip) stay optional.
5. In-App Purchases
Of the 17 games, 13 sell something on iOS. Typical shops run from $1.99 to $29.99; the widest ranges are CubeAway (up to $98.99), Arrow Out Puzzle ($79.99) and Tap Away 3D ($59.99). Amaze GO!, Neon Maze, Take Away 3D and Arrow Pro 3D list no in-app purchases at all, so they rely on ads. Arrows sells ad removal once ($9.99) or for one, three or six months. For what each free version holds back, see free arrow game apps.
6. How Real Players Progress
From our free browser version at arrowjamgo.com/play (the first 300 levels of Arrow Jam Go), October 5–16, 2026: 1,483 levels started, 1,286 won, 342 lost and 890 hints used. A visit to the game page lasted about 12 minutes on average.
| Level | Players who started it | Share of level-1 players |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 61 | 100% |
| 5 | 39 | 64% |
| 10 | 33 | 54% |
| 15 | 27 | 44% |
| 20 | 22 | 36% |
| 25 | 16 | 26% |
| 30 | 12 | 20% |
Failures are rare before level 20 (at most 3 of 27 players on any level), then 6 of 22 players lose at least once on level 20, where the board grows from 15 × 15 to 23 × 23. Players count once per day; the sample is small, so treat the shape, not the exact percentages, as the finding.
Method
- Store numbers: US App Store (ratings, rating, in-app purchase list, latest reviews) and Google Play (installs, rating) listings, collected October 5, 2026. Each game name above links to its store page.
- Level data:Android builds installed on a Pixel 9a — Arrows – Puzzle Escape 0.22.2, Amaze GO! 1.33.0, Arrow Fever 14.1.0 — and Arrow Jam Go's own level files. Level files were parsed and every level was solved by repeatedly removing all arrows that can fly; "rounds" is how many such passes a level needs.
- Ad pacing:read from each game's ad configuration and code where present; values set by the server at run time are described but not quantified.
- Player data: anonymous, cookie-free counts from arrowjamgo.com; a player is counted once per day.
